Alaafia to the fam.

It’s your people’s Babalawo, Esuwale Adigun—King Brujo—and I’m back with another message for these spiritual streets.

Are y’all ready for the awakening?

I’ve been saying it. I’ve been keeping it raw, uncut, and straight from the root. No gimmicks. No watered-down versions. Just authentic African tradition, the way our ancestors intended. And now, we’re seeing a shift happening not just on the ground—but in the spotlight too.

One of our own, a beloved and powerful voice in the Black community, has made it known that she is walking this sacred path. And that sister is none other than Taraji P. Henson and her African Spiritual Awakening

Yes, Taraji P. Henson has publicly affirmed her connection to the Orisha tradition. She’s rocking with the Yoruba path. She’s standing with the ancestors. She’s letting the world know she’s not just about the lights and the cameras—she’s about that divine alignment too.

Now why does Taraji P. Henson's African Spiritual Awakening matter?

Because for generations, African spiritual systems were demonized, hidden, and forced underground. Many of us grew up never hearing about Ifa, about the Orishas, about our own ancestral wisdom. We were taught to be ashamed of our roots, afraid of our own power.

But the tides are turning.

When a cultural icon like Taraji steps forward, she’s not just making a personal choice—she’s cracking open a door for millions of others to walk through. She’s saying: You can honor your ancestors. You can walk with Osun. You can trust in Orunmila. You can be proud to be African and spiritual.

This is bigger than her. This is about our collective reclamation. Our people are remembering who we are. We’re reconnecting with Ifa, with Orunmila, with Esu, Osun, Ogun, and the rest of the Orisas. We’re restoring the sacred.

So I ask you again:

Are you ready for the awakening?

Because it’s not just a moment—it’s a movement. It’s IFA to the world. It’s us taking back our story, our shrines, our sacred knowledge. The ancestors have been waiting. The spirits are calling.

And as more of us answer—whether you're a Hollywood actress or a young seeker from the Southside—we rise together. Taraji P. Henson's African Spiritual Awakening teaches us to

Stand firm in the tradition. Honor the elders. Walk the path with character.

IFA is not a trend. It’s a destiny. And now the world is watching.

Esuwale Adigun | Babalawo | Olorisa | King Brujo
