There is a growing trend online where people try to determine their spiritual identity through feelings. It often sounds like this:

I feel connected to this Orisa

I dreamed of that Orisa

My personality matches this Orisa

Therefore that Orisa must be my head.

It is poetic, but it is not how Yoruba spiritual parentage works. If we are going to answer the question who is my head Orisa, we have to begin with actual Yoruba cosmology rather than emotion.

Who Is My Head Orisa and Why Emotion Cannot Decide

Many people today try to answer who is my head Orisa based on personal affinity. They assume that if they admire Obatala, they must belong to Obatala. If they have fiery energy, they must belong to Sango. If they love the river, they must belong to Osun.

Yet admiration is not the same as assignment. Feeling is not the same as destiny. Liking an Orisa does not make that Orisa your spiritual parent.

If feelings could determine spiritual identity then every admirer of Obatala would magically become His child. Spiritual identity is not elected by emotion.

Who Is My Head Orisa and the Role of Ori in Choosing

To truly answer who is my head Orisa, we must understand Ori. In Yoruba cosmology, Ori is sovereign. Ori is the seat of destiny. Ori chooses before the body arrives. Before you take your first breath, your destiny is already aligned, your path is negotiated, and your primary Orisa is assigned.

This means your head Orisa was not chosen last week when you became interested in tradition. The decision was made in the unseen realm long before you entered the seen realm.

This is why the Yoruba say that Ori is king. Your Ori already knows who is my head Orisa because the agreement was made before birth.

Why Dreams Do Not Answer Who Is My Head Orisa

Some try to answer who is my head Orisa through dreams. Dreams can be instructive, powerful, and full of meaning. Orisa may appear in dreams to teach, warn, or guide.

But spiritual visitation does not equal spiritual ownership.

If dreams determined parentage then every Orisa who visits your sleep would claim your destiny. But Yoruba tradition does not operate like that. Dreams show communication, not assignment.

Why Personality Does Not Determine Who Is My Head Orisa

A common modern claim is that personality traits reveal one’s head Orisa. Loud and fiery people assume Sango. Compassionate and watery people assume Osun. Unbothered people assume Obatala. Yet personality and destiny are not identical.

If personality determined destiny then half the internet would belong to Sango simply because they argue loudly. The cosmos is not that shallow.

Personality is changeable, adaptive, and shaped by environment. Destiny is fixed before incarnation. So personality cannot answer who is my head Orisa.

Who Is My Head Orisa and the Necessity of Divination

Since emotion, dreams, and personality cannot decide, how do we answer who is my head Orisa?

We answer through divination.

Divination is not guesswork. Divination is not imagination or vibe. Divination is the technology through which destiny speaks. Through divination the unseen agreements of Ori are revealed so that humans can align with what was already chosen.

Spiritual identity is uncovered, not constructed.

The ancestors never used dreams, personality, or feelings to answer who is my head Orisa. They used divination because destiny spoke long before you learned how to speak back.

Humans Do Not Choose Their Head Orisa

The most difficult truth for modern spiritual seekers is this:

Humans do not choose Orisa. Destiny does.

You are not governed by the Orisa you like. You are governed by the Orisa your Ori aligned with before birth. So if you sincerely ask who is my head Orisa, you must be willing to receive the answer that destiny reveals, not the answer your feelings prefer.

Conclusion

The question who is my head Orisa cannot be answered by preference, aesthetics, dreams, or personality resemblance. It is answered by understanding Ori, pre incarnation agreements, and divination.

Feelings are not evidence. Dreams are not contracts. Personality is not destiny.

The correct path to answering who is my head Orisa comes through divination because that is where the voice of destiny becomes visible.

Humans do not choose Orisa.

Destiny does.
